Crest Haven Peach (Prunus persica)
Crest Haven, commonly written ‘Cresthaven’, is a later yellow freestone peach with firm flesh and good kitchen versatility. It is especially useful for extending the harvest beyond earlier summer cultivars.
Key Characteristics
Firm yellow flesh with good flavor
The fruit has a red blush over gold and a balanced peach flavor. Its firm texture is useful for fresh slices and prepared desserts.
A later harvest with preserving value
Cresthaven is noted for freezing quality and is also useful for home canning. Pick mature fruit carefully and sort out bruised fruit before storing or preserving.
Thin the crop and maintain airflow
A productive tree needs enough space between fruit for good size and even ripening. Useful bacterial-spot tolerance helps, but brown rot and fruit-feeding insects still need management.
Pollination Partners
Self-fertile; a second tree is not required. Cross-pollination depends on overlapping bloom, not matching harvest months.
Rootstock and Mature Size
Plan for approximately 15–20 feet at maturity, depending on site and pruning. The offered variant identifies the rootstock; keep the graft union above soil level and remove rootstock suckers.

General Peach Orchard Guidance
A good start
Choose well-drained soil and enough room for the mature tree. Water consistently while roots establish, mulch with space around the trunk, and keep vigorous grass and other competitors away from the young root zone.
Fertility and fruit-tree guilds
Use a soil test to guide lime and fertilizer rather than feeding heavily by default. Our Tree Planting Kit fertilizer blend is an optional planting supplement; keep concentrated fertilizer away from bare roots and avoid excess nitrogen.

Practical pest and disease care
Peaches and nectarines fruit on the previous season’s growth, so annual pruning and early thinning help maintain light, fruit size, and branch strength. Remove mummified fruit and monitor for brown rot, leaf curl, and plum curculio. Use sanitation, fruit bags where practical, and locally appropriate organic care; avoid insecticides during bloom.
