Kira Evergreen Forest is a compact Coral Bells cultivar selected for richly colored foliage that creates a dense, textural ground layer through much of the year. Its mounded leaves are complemented by slender flower stalks carrying delicate blossoms above the foliage, giving the plant two distinct roles in the garden: persistent ornamental structure below and airy pollinator activity above. Particularly useful in partial shade, it fits beautifully along woodland paths, beneath shrubs, in containers, and among ferns, sedges, Foamflower, and spring ephemerals.

Kira Evergreen Forest forms a tidy mound of decorative leaves that remains visually useful far beyond its flowering period. This makes it especially valuable in layered gardens where spring wildflowers may disappear or become inconspicuous by summer. Use its substantial foliage as a contrasting backdrop for fine-textured sedges, ferns, and delicate woodland flowers.

Tiny flowers add another layer for pollinators
Slender stems rise above the leaves carrying numerous small bell-shaped flowers. These blooms are visited by small bees and other flower-feeding insects, adding floral resources without creating a large or unruly plant. Groups of Coral Bells are particularly effective because they concentrate many small flowers into an easily discovered feeding patch.

Coral Bells appreciate consistent moisture during active growth but require good drainage around their crowns. Position the crown at or slightly above the surrounding soil and avoid piling mulch directly against it. A light layer of natural leaf litter is preferable to deep, moisture-retentive mulch in woodland-style plantings.
