Apple, Enterprise

The Enterprise apple is a hardy, disease-resistant variety prized for its reliable productivity and deep red, glossy fruit with a firm, juicy texture. Originally developed for natural resilience, Enterprise is highly resistant to apple scab, fire blight, and cedar apple rust, making it ideal for organic orchards and low-spray systems. With a sweet-tart flavor that mellows and deepens in storage, Enterprise is excellent for fresh eating, baking, and cider. This apple ripens in mid to late October, bringing a late-season harvest to the orchard with fruit that stores beautifully for winter use.

Key Characteristics

Disease Resistance
Bred for strong natural resistance, Enterprise is exceptionally resilient against common diseases such as apple scab, fire blight, and cedar apple rust, reducing the need for chemical treatments and making it a top choice for organic growers.

Sweet-Tart Flavor that Improves with Storage
Enterprise offers a balanced sweet-tart flavor when freshly harvested, with a firm, crisp texture. Its flavor continues to develop during storage, making it an ideal apple for those who want fruit that keeps well into winter.

Late-Season Harvest
Ripening in mid to late October, Enterprise extends the apple season, providing a fresh supply of fruit just as other varieties have finished, making it a valuable addition for continuous harvests.

Ideal for Multiple Uses
Enterprise is a versatile apple, excellent for fresh eating and baking, as well as cider-making. Its firmness and flavor hold up well in pies and sauces, offering richness and depth in cooked dishes.

Reliable Pollinator
A partially self-fertile variety, Enterprise performs best when paired with other mid- to late-season pollinators such as 'Honeycrisp,' 'Crimson Crisp,' or 'Liberty' for more consistent yields.
