Plum, Krauter Vesuvius Ornamental

The Krauter Vesuvius Ornamental Plum is a stunning deciduous tree that adds a splash of vibrant color to any landscape. Its dark purple foliage emerges in spring, providing a dramatic backdrop for a profusion of showy light pink flowers. As the blooms fade, tiny, new leaves emerge brilliant red, gradually maturing to a bold, deep red-purple color that persists throughout the summer. In the fall, bright red plums about the size of cherries brighten up the landscape even more.

This small tree, reaching a mature height of 20 feet and a spread of 15 feet, is an ideal choice for yards with limited space. It is a versatile addition to the landscape, serving as a specimen tree, a focal point in a border, or a colorful backdrop for other plantings. The Krauter Vesuvius Ornamental Plum also provides valuable wildlife habitat, attracting birds and other small animals that enjoy feasting on its sweet berries.
