WinterMax combines winter rye, radish, and hairy vetch in a dependable cool-season mix. Winter rye provides fast ground cover, excellent winter hardiness, and plenty of organic matter. Hairy vetch is a legume that fixes nitrogen for the following crop, while radish sends down a deep taproot that helps loosen compacted soil and capture nutrients.

This is a strong choice for vegetable gardens, market gardens, small farms, orchard alleys, and other beds or fields that would otherwise sit bare through winter. Broadcast onto prepared soil, lightly rake or press the seed in for good seed-to-soil contact, and water if rain is not expected.
