Pink Lemonade Blueberry — Bare Root
Pink Lemonade ripens glossy pink fruit with a mild, sweet flavor. This USDA-developed hybrid has rabbiteye ancestry and is best planned as a separate pollination group from the northern highbush varieties.
Pollination companions
Pink Lemonade can set some fruit alone, but another rabbiteye cultivar flowering at the same time can improve cropping. Northern highbush varieties such as Duke and Bluecrop should not be relied upon as its pollinizers. Ask us about a suitable rabbiteye companion; this order does not include a second rabbiteye cultivar.
Extend your blueberry season
This variety ripens mid-to-late season. Combine it with Duke (early), Bluecrop (mid-season), Elliott (late) to spread the picking season. These highbush varieties add harvest variety but are not substitutes for a rabbiteye pollinizer. Ripening season and bloom time are different. Harvest dates vary with climate, elevation and the weather each year.
Planting and ecological value
Choose full sun and moist, well-drained acidic soil, approximately pH 4.5–5.5. Test soil before planting, mulch the shallow roots and water consistently through establishment. Spring flowers feed visiting bees, especially bumblebees that can buzz-pollinate blueberries, and birds enjoy the fruit.
Plant offered: Three-year-old, bed-grown bare-root plant, 18–24 inches, for spring 2027. Supplied dormant without a pot. Remove flowers during establishment to help the plant develop roots and shoots.
